LAKE FOREST PARK READS!
Meet Plenty authors Alisa Smith and James MacKinnon at the Lake Forest Park Farmers Market, Sunday, July 20, 3 pm.

At 4 pm, James joins our Market‘s GreenGo chefs, Heidi and Dylan Stockman, for a cooking demonstration and tasting. Suggested donations of $15 will support the Friends of Third Place Commons Market Bucks Program, which increases farmers market accessibility for those who may not have the resources to buy fresh, local foods. Watch chefs prepare food from our own market and come away with a recipe collection. Bonus! The Stockmans will share the secret to their delectable grilled polenta!

At 5 pm, James and Alisa will present their memoir Plenty: Easting Locally on the 100-Mile Diet on the Third Place stage.

LFP Reads is cosponsored by KCLS and Friends of the Lake Forest Park Library, Third Place Books and the City of Lake Forest Park.

Community Event Climate Change Dialogue
7:00 pm
Wednesday, July 23
Concern about global climate change has increased and society is now beginning to respond. We face serious choices, and some say grave consequences, if we don‘t make the right choices. But the issues are not simple. The global reach and long time frame of this problem are a challenge for our political institutions. Your informed participation will help our leaders get outside politics-as-usual. Contact facilitator Mark D. Johnson at markdorj @ comcast.net, or call (206)937-6079.

The Greater Seattle Climate Dialogues is a campaign of community learning and discussion that begins with small group dialogues (in neighborhoods, workplaces, schools, etc.) and will culminate in a Citizen's Climate Summit, where our informed, collective voice will be heard by local and national political leaders. www.climatedialogues.org
